VOTE DAVID JINKENS FOR
I appreciate you taking the time to evaluate candidates for City Council. It is important that you know where candidates stand on important issues facing the City before you vote. It is equally important that who you elect to office keeps their promises.
I want the best for our City and all people who live here. I want to see City government focus on the important things that are needed and will always keep in mind that members of the City Council work for you first and foremost above all other interests.
Your elected leaders need to listen to the people, their priorities, and keep them safe from any and all dangers. Public officials must take their duties seriously, and you must be able to count on them to put your interests first. I pledge to do so.
I will be a “Good Government Advocate” for the people if elected to the City Council.
After 35 years as a City Manager, I want to give back some of my knowledge to the community of South Lake Tahoe and its residents. I have remained engaged on important issues that affect our State and our city. A lot has been done – I would like to build upon some of the successes that have been achieved and focus on some issues that remain unaddressed.
I am fiscally prudent, a 20 year resident of South Lake Tahoe, and have been married to my lovely wife (Terri) for 40 years.
I would like to see the City foster an environment for business that provides good paying jobs and affordable housing to our community.
I can and will work with whomever is elected to the City Council to foster a spirit of cooperation to address our city’s pressing issues and achieve important objectives like repaired streets, no new taxes, setting budget priorities, aggressively pursuing fire safety, opposing projects that pollute the land or lake. I will also LISTEN to my constituents.
